International PNF Association (IPNFA)

The International Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Association (IPNFA) is a community of members that teaches Dr Kabat's and Ms Knott's method to physical and occupational therapists all over the world. In the United States, the PNF Post-Graduate Training Program has been based in the Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center in Vallejo, California since 1948. It continues to provide 3, 6, and 9 month residency programs and attracts applicants from all over the world.

The IPNFA has national groups all over Europe, Asia and South America. The IPNFA has a number of democratically elected committees, whose members are responsible for reviewing policy, setting standards and maintaining the quality of IPNFA courses all over the world. Over the past 25 years, the IPNFA has established a course system that provides basic and advanced courses in PNF. For those interested in teaching PNF, the IPNFA has a set of formal guidelines with specific requirements as part of the instructor training program.
